“Yeah,  We Meant To Do That…”  defines the outcome of the artistic talents of Cindy and Michael Ireland.  They together create one of a kind wall  sculpture.  Abstract painting, a  bold use of color and a creative mix of materials from painted, gilded, and dyed woods, metals, and leather results in unique energy and form.

No two pieces are or will be duplicated.  Each is dynamic with energy and  reflective inspiration from the creators using their unique approach.  Michael and Cindy work separately in stages for each piece.  This method inspires each phase of the work, allowing for independent action, and the ability to build on each piece as a progression. They are not only inspired by the materials but by what each person adds to the collaboration to produce a finished piece.

Michael has worked in a variety of materials building his unique sculptural pieces with a history selling primarily through galleries and commissions in San Diego and Del Mar, CA, Asheville & Saskatchewan.  He has been creating for most of his life, but has focused on his art for the past 20 years.  Michael has been featured in books, such as “Wood Art Today”, his work has graced the cover of magazines, and had permanent installations shown on the HGTV network.  His work is collected from Seattle to South Carolina, California to Massachusetts.

Cindy has been painting since childhood, selling to private collectors.  Her primary medium has been acrylics, but she developed a love for oils after studying at the San Diego Art Department.  She participated in the “Ray At Night”gallery walks held in an uptown San Diego neighborhood and was a member of the Synergy Art project.  Lately, she has also started working with alcohol inks and a variety of other pen and pencil drawings with interesting effects.

The couple moved to Weaverville in 2008, where they purchased a round house, 2 working studio spaces, and began their collaboration to create a whole new series of work.  Their art has been shown at the Bath County, VA Show, Atelier Gallery, Woolworth Walk and Cindy continues to be an active juried member of the Weaverville Art Safari.

Special commissioned pieces are in private collections from Asheville to San Diego.
